The ACOFP CA CME Certfiicates from the 34th Annual Medical Education Seminar held in Anaheim, August 5-8, 2010 have been emailed to all attendees with a valid email. If you have not received via email:
- Check your spam/junk email.
- If you do not have a valid email registered with ACOFP CA, then your certificate was faxed, or if a fax number was not available, it was mailed.
- Email admin@acofpca.org and let them know that you have not received your CME certificate and would like staff to look into the status.
President Alesia J. Wagner, DO, FACOFP's Recent Public Appearance
Your ACOFP CA President, Alesia J. Wagner, recently appeared on the KNX Talk Radio show with Bob McCormick. and discussed the Pertussis epidemic in California, as well as the aging work force and the effects on injured workers and getting your children ready for school.
 
ACOFP CA BOARD MEMBER NAMED PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN OSTEOPATHIC FOUNDATION
On June 1, 2010, James M. Lally, DO, MMM, an AOA board-certified family practice physician from Chino, California was named president of the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF). Dr. Lally will lead the organization until December 31, 2011.
“It is an honor to be elected to this position by my peers” said Dr. Lally. “I have always believed that you must take care of those following in your footsteps. The AOF has been giving back to the profession for just over 60 years; under my leadership, we plan to gain financial strength setting the direction for the next 60 years.”

2010 ACOFP National Family Physician of the Year
The ACOFP Family Physician of the Year Award is presented to a member who exemplifies the ideals of the practice of osteopathic family physicians. Recipients have made outstanding contributions to the osteopathic profession and served their local communities through service organizations, scouting, PTA’s, etc. The individual should be a role model to peers and students. Criteria include ACOFP membership, active in osteopathic family practice for at least the past 15 years, and nomination by the ACOFP or AOA state society.
Ethan Allen has practiced osteopathic medicine in Norwalk for 57+ years. He was a leader in opening California to licensing osteopathic doctors in 1976. He has been president of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California four times and is a permanent member of the legislative committee.
Dr. Allen was founding chair of the Board of Directors of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (now Western University of Health Sciences.) He currently serves as Treasurer of this board. One of the honors bestowed on him that pleases him very much is renaming Founder's Park to the Ethan R. Allan Park.
